Sun, sun, everywhere, the snow can't catch a break...

Three weeks in and thinking back, only two days of over cast skies, with the midday warmth bringing sun bathers to the park, ski jackets off at the resorts and funky tan lines from wearing goggles!

The last two weeks have flown by and moving into a house share, two minutes walk from $5 pizza and three minutes walk from $7 litres of beer, it's not surprising. Being labeled as the 'bums' of the house as the only ones not working, we make up for it in playing. Skiing, climbing, walking, disic golf and of course bumming around.
Frozen lake selfie!

We've managed to get out climbing a few times and the excitement seems to be following back, with nights thumbing through the guidebook to see what jumps out at us next. Sport climbing in the valley, mixed climbing above the ski resort and mountaineering ridges to the summits, no wonder Queenstown is so highly recommended. The conditions are OK as well, with enough hard snow in the mornings to make things fast and easy, although we did end up racing the sun on a mixed route before it feel on the route and made things mushy.

The ski resorts are looking a little worse for wear, lots of use and the snow slowly melting in the warm sun, but snow is on its way, which should raise the skiing standard, even though everyone seems to be talking about the end of the season already! Four weeks is a long time for snow conditions and we're hoping that we'll be able to improve a little more before the end...
Oh, and we survived our first earthquake, a 3.8 I think, we survived it so well we slept straight through it!
